It is extremely popular for its great public school system and convenient location-15 minutes to downtown or 15 minutes to Folly Beach! Surrounded by water, James Island provides you access to multiple public boat launches and tidal creeks.  

Another popular attraction is the James Island County Park, one of the best public parks in the Charleston Area. This park includes a water park, dog park, children’s splash pad and playground, camping options, and miles of walking and biking paths. It also hosts the annual Holiday Festival of Lights and various other family-friendly events throughout the year.
