West Ashley is an expansive area that can be broken down into two distinct locations: Inside and Outside I-526. Outside I-526 is more suburban and features many family-centric, new neighborhoods. This will only continue to expand in the future as new development is already in the works.   

Inside I-526 offers close proximity to downtown and some more well-established neighborhoods. One of the most sought-after is the trendy Avondale community, which is within walking distance to a strip of mixed commercial use featuring restaurants, a brewery, local boutiques, and salons. However, all throughout West Ashley, you’ll find numerous other shopping options and great local restaurants!
